Guiding IIHM towards AI driven academic future
In a powerful and forward-looking Vision Address delivered to IIHM family across the globe on 5th January at IIHM Global Campus, Dr. Suborno Bose, Founder & Chairman, IIHM Worldwide, reaffirmed the institution’s core vision and urged educators to embrace it with conviction, courage, and collective responsibility. His address was not merely about technology, but about a fundamental shift in mindset—for teachers, students, and the institution alike.
Dr. Bose highlighted how IIHM is leveraging AI and custom-built GPT platforms like NamAIste to simplify administration, enhance academic delivery, and most importantly, prepare students for jobs that do not yet exist. Emphasising that education must move beyond information delivery, he stated that the real purpose of AI at IIHM is to shift learning from repetition to reflection, and from control to coaching.
“It’s not AI that will change education. It is the human mind. The human mind is far stronger than any AI in the world,” Dr. Bose remarked, emphasizing that technology can never replace wisdom, experience, or the educator’s role.
He called upon IIHM faculties to lead this transformation from the front—adopting new tools, reimagining classrooms as studios, and kitchens as learning theatres where decision-making, creativity, and leadership are cultivated. The focus, he reiterated, must be on building faster thinkers, better decision-makers, and future ready hospitality professionals.
Dr. Bose also reaffirmed that teachers are more relevant than ever in the age of AI, as “wisdom cannot be automated.” Artificial Intelligence, he said, is an ally that removes friction and frees educators to mentor, inspire, and guide with greater impact.
Adding valuable perspective, Chef Sanjay Kak, Director, Food Production and Culinary Art, IIHM Worldwide, echoed the need to adopt and embrace AI as a tool that refines learning, sharpens perspectives, and elevates teaching—while keeping the final judgement firmly human. The address concluded with a clear call to action: IIHM’s future lies in high-tech, high-touch, and a higher purpose—a vision that every IIHM member is now empowered to carry forward.
