Dr Suborno Bose inaugurates AI Namaiste Hospitality Youth Impact Summit 2026 with a powerful keynote on AI, leadership and the future of hospitality

The International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) began its AI Namaiste Hospitality Youth Impact Summit from February 16–20 with a powerful and inspiring keynote address by Dr. Suborno Bose, Chairman, IIHM & Indismart Group. The summit, which is student-led and focused on hospitality and artificial intelligence, is being celebrated across all IIHM campuses in alignment with the prestigious Global India AI Impact Summit 2026 taking place at the iconic Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre, New Delhi.

In his address, Dr. Bose explained that the global summit in New Delhi is not just another conference. It is a historic moment for India. Conceived under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this summit formally places India on the global map as a serious AI power. With more than 20 heads of state, over 50 CEOs from leading IT and AI corporations, and participation from more than 100 countries, it is one of the largest and most significant gatherings in recent years, comparable in importance to the G20 Summit. Most importantly, it is the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South, which makes it truly historic.

Dr. Bose, during his speech, said: “The world is not coming to Delhi to debate theory. It is coming to discuss impact.” He explained that earlier global discussions around AI were largely about safety and regulation. Now the focus has shifted to practical impact, large-scale deployment, inclusion, economic growth and sustainable innovation. The conversation has moved from talking about possibilities to implementing real solutions. It is about AI in action, not AI in abstraction. He reminded students that India is no longer just participating in global technology conversations; India is shaping them.

Connecting this national vision to hospitality education, Dr. Bose made it clear that AI is not only for engineers or coders. Artificial intelligence is already transforming guest experience, revenue management, sustainability systems, kitchen operations and talent development in hotels and restaurants around the world. Hospitality is one of the largest employers globally, and therefore AI in hospitality is not optional anymore; it is essential. If every industry is being reshaped by AI, then hospitality must not follow from behind — it must lead from the front. Referring to celebrated chef Sanjeev Kapoor and his advice to students to “learn, then earn and create returns,” Dr. Bose said that the IIHM NamAIste Youth Impact Summit gives students the right platform to do exactly that. Learning about AI today will help them earn better opportunities tomorrow.

He proudly stated that IIHM did not wait for the world to start debating AI, IIHM has already integrated AI into its classrooms, kitchens and curriculum. While policymakers and global leaders are discussing AI deployment in New Delhi, IIHM students across campuses are actively participating in AI Impact Week through daily student-led demonstrations, panel discussions aligned with national themes, collaborations with industry leaders, and completion of the IndiaAI course in solidarity with the national mission. “We are not observers of the AI revolution. We are participants,” he said with conviction. IIHM has already developed NamAIste GPT, embedded AI learning into hospitality education, introduced sustainability-focused digital tools and positioned its students as global digital citizens who understand both technology and human touch.

He explained that once the Global AI Impact Summit concludes, different industries will begin interpreting what it means for them, just as they analyse the Union Budget every year. At IIHM, the hospitality sector’s response will focus on translating national AI strategy into real skills, real jobs and real career opportunities for students. His message to every IIHM student was simple yet powerful: think like leaders because you belong to a leading institution. IIHM is already ahead in embracing technology with responsibility and vision. The Global India AI Impact Summit is about shaping the future of intelligence, and at IIHM, that intelligence is being transformed into intelligent hospitality.
