IIHM Teachers’ Day Awards 2025
Celebrating the Guiding Lights of Education
The International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), India’s leading hospitality education brand, once again paid a heartfelt tribute to educators through the grand celebration of the IIHM Teachers’ Day Awards 2025. The prestigious events were hosted at both the Kolkata and New Delhi campuses, bringing together teachers, principals, and school leaders from across regions in days that radiated pride, gratitude, and inspiration.

The Kolkata chapter of the celebration, held on 6th September, welcomed almost 160 schools and recognized hundreds of passionate teachers and their principals. From preschool educators to higher secondary leaders, the event honoured those who shape young minds, nurture character, and prepare students to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
This year’s theme, “Empowering Educators in the Age of AI”, was both timely and impactful. It highlighted IIHM’s belief that as the world embraces technology and innovation, teachers remain the irreplaceable foundation of society. Their role in blending knowledge, empathy, and creativity with evolving digital tools is central to preparing students for a future where human touch meets artificial intelligence.
The event was hosted across two sessions – morning and evening – to accommodate the overwhelming participation. It was graced by eminent Guests of Honour: Dr. Debanjan Chakraborty, Director, British Council (East and Northeast India), and Mr. Marc Boudin, Director, Alliance Française. Both dignitaries applauded the dedication of educators and emphasized their importance in bridging cultures, building values, and nurturing global citizens.
The awards were personally led by Dr. Suborno Bose, Founder-Chairman and Chief Mentor of IIHM and the Indismart Group Worldwide, and Ms. Sanjukta Bose, Co-Founder and Director of IIHM Kolkata. Their presence reaffirmed IIHM’s mission of “giving back to society” by honouring the very people who dedicate their lives to education.
In his address, Dr. Suborno Bose emphasized the role of education in nation-building and the urgent need to embrace innovation:
“At IIHM, we believe that AI is not artificial intelligence, but advanced intelligence—nothing artificial about it, all real. Today’s children are going to be technologically far more savvy, and it is our responsibility to empower them, not only through knowledge but also through entrepreneurship and life skills. Education must go beyond literacy to include etiquette, global awareness, and practical skills that prepare students for a global stage. Teachers are our true partners in this journey of shaping the future.”
A highlight of the awards was the Outstanding Contribution to the Development of Education recognition, conferred upon the Aussie Meat Academy and Ms. Siripon Tantipanyathep, Consul General, Royal Thai Consulate General. Their contributions have enriched IIHM’s global learning initiatives, from introducing students to authentic Thai cuisine to creating advanced workshops on Australian red meat for both hospitality students and industry chefs.

The celebrations extended to the capital, where the IIHM New Delhi campus hosted a grand Teachers’ Day Awards event, honouring the invaluable contributions of educators from across the Delhi-NCR region. Over 110 distinguished teachers and principals were felicitated in an atmosphere of warmth, respect, and admiration.
The ceremony began with a heartfelt welcome, followed by an inspiring address from IIHM leadership on the pivotal role of teachers in nation-building. Each guest received a certificate as a token of gratitude for their dedication and service.
The program concluded with an elegant high tea organized by IIHM students and faculty, showcasing the institute’s excellence in hospitality. Guests enjoyed gourmet refreshments, networking opportunities, and a dedicated photo session, leaving with fond memories and a strong sense of appreciation. The event reaffirmed IIHM New Delhi’s deep regard for the teaching community and its commitment to strengthening ties with educators.
