A Grand Celebration of Academic Excellence, Global Partnership, and Future-Powered Education
The grandeur of the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) Convocation 2025 unfolded on 10th November 2025 at Kalamandir Auditorium, Kolkata, marking a proud milestone for the graduating Class of 2025.
The ceremony was a grand celebration of academic achievement, innovation, and the evolving spirit of hospitality education. The event commenced with the majestic platform procession and the Indian National Anthem. Mrs. Sanjukta Bose, Co-founder and Director of IIHM, declared the ceremony open with inspiring words that set the tone for a day that celebrated both tradition and transformation.
Along with Dr. Suborno Bose, Chairman and CEO of IIHM and Chairman of the International Hospitality Council (UK), the ceremony was graced by FIIHM Mr. K. Mohan Chandran, Vice President, Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), and FIIHM Mr. Animesh Barat, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Kolkata.
In his convocation address, Dr. Suborno Bose congratulated the graduates and their parents, calling it “a day of celebration and realisation of dreams.” He remarked, “You are the first-ever AI-powered hospitality graduates in India. At IIHM, we believe AI is not the future — AI is the present.” He highlighted innovations like NamAIste, the world’s first Hospitality GPT, as part of IIHM’s mission to prepare students for an AI-driven world.
Dr. Bose emphasised that IIHM’s vision extends beyond hospitality education — to creating future-ready, AI-enabled professionals who blend technology with human sensitivity. He also highlighted pioneering initiatives such as the Young Chef Olympiad, International Hospitality Day, and the Global Hospitality Tech Movement, reaffirming IIHM’s commitment to sustainability, technology, and empathy.
The Dr. Suborno Bose Award for Overall Academic Excellence was conferred upon Rohit Chanda and Tanishtha Ghosh. Both dignitaries congratulated the graduates, with Mr. Chandran urging them to “embrace the unexpected and lead with empathy,” and Mr. Barat commending IIHM for nurturing future-ready professionals who blend traditional hospitality values with modern innovation.
The ceremony also recognised academic toppers and medal winners across disciplines, with Ms. Ishika Shaw receiving the IIHM Gold Medal for Academic Excellence.
In her closing remarks, Mrs. Sanjukta Bose said, “This day marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. You graduate today not only as hospitality professionals but as future leaders prepared for an AI-driven world.”
The ceremony concluded with a group photograph and a celebratory lunch at the IIHM Global Campus, marking the start of a new journey for the graduates — one that blends innovation with empathy and excellence with purpose.
