How IIHM is Building the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs

In today’s fast-changing world, success belongs to those who can innovate, adapt, and take bold decisions. That is exactly the mindset IIHM nurtures in its students. While many institutions focus only on classroom learning, IIHM goes far beyond academics by encouraging students to think like future business leaders and entrepreneurs during their college years.

At the heart of this vision is the Sahason Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship, a pioneering initiative by IIHM designed to inspire students to turn ideas into real ventures. It is not just another academic project that gets submitted, forgotten, and left in files. Instead, it is a real-world platform where students identify market gaps, study industry loopholes to create solutions, and present them before experienced juries, industry leaders, and mentors.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

At IIHM, students are trained for the realities of the professional world. They are encouraged to observe trends, understand customer needs, evaluate competition, and develop ideas that can become viable businesses. From hospitality startups and food innovations to travel technology and digital service platforms, students are learning how to build brands even before they graduate.

This practical exposure gives them confidence to think independently and take calculated risks—qualities every successful entrepreneur needs.

Teamwork that Builds Leaders

Entrepreneurship is never a one-person journey, and IIHM ensures students understand the power of teamwork. Every team member plays a vital role—whether in research, planning, finance, branding, or presentations.

When a team succeeds, everyone wins together. Through this process, students learn leadership, collaboration, communication, and accountability—skills that stay with them for life.

A Journey Through Competitive Rounds

Each year, talented student teams from IIHM campuses across India participate in multiple rounds of evaluation through the Sahason platform. Only the best concepts make it to the final stage, where the top finalists present their startup ideas before judges, panels, faculty members, and fellow students.

The finalists explain:

  • The market problem they want to solve
  • How their business idea fills the gap
  • Operational strategy and growth plan
  • Financial viability and future expansion

After extensive judging rounds, the top three teams are recognised as winners and rewarded for their innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

Support That Turns Dreams into Reality

What makes IIHM unique is that students are never left to struggle alone. Through the Sahason Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship, the institution provides mentorship, administrative guidance, expert masterclasses, material support, and other opportunities to deserving teams.

This means students don’t just dream big—they are given the tools to make those dreams possible.

Shaping India’s Future Entrepreneurs

Aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, IIHM is creating young leaders who are job creators, not just job seekers. By encouraging innovation from college itself, IIHM is helping students become confident entrepreneurs ready to contribute to India’s economy and the global hospitality industry.

Building Towards the Next Chapter

As the day approaches to declare SahasOn 6.0 edition’s winners, excitement continues to grow. With new ideas, fresh talent, and bigger ambitions, IIHM students are once again preparing to transform passion into profit. Because at IIHM, entrepreneurship is not an option added later—it is a culture built from day one.
