IIHM and IHC London celebrated the industry’s finest while inspiring the next generation of hospitality professionals

Every year, International Hospitality Day (IHD) celebrates the people who make hospitality one of the world’s most inspiring industries. This year, Mumbai became the centre of that celebration as the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) and the International Hospitality Council (IHC), London hosted the International Hospitality Day Awards 2026 at Sofitel Mumbai BKC on 29th June 2026.

The prestigious event brought together renowned hoteliers, celebrated chefs, entrepreneurs, educators and hospitality leaders from India and across the world to recognise excellence, innovation and lifelong contributions to the industry. Awards were presented across several categories, including Lifetime Achievement, Outstanding Contribution to Hospitality, Hospitality Entrepreneur of the Year, Women Achiever, AI in Hospitality Leadership, Culinary Trailblazer and Global Indian Leader in Hospitality.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Suborno Bose, Chairman of IHC London and Chairman & Chief Mentor of IIHM Worldwide, highlighted the bright future of hospitality and the growing role of young professionals. He emphasised that while artificial intelligence is transforming operations, hospitality will always remain a people-centric industry built on emotions, experiences and meaningful human connections. His message reinforced IIHM’s philosophy of embracing technology while preserving the human touch that defines hospitality.

The evening honoured several legendary personalities, including hospitality pioneers, globally acclaimed chefs and industry leaders who have shaped the sector through their vision and commitment. It also recognised rising stars and innovative professionals driving change across hotels, restaurants and hospitality businesses.

Beyond celebrating achievements, the event reflected IIHM’s commitment to preparing future-ready hospitality professionals. Through pioneering initiatives such as the Young Chef Olympiad, the world’s largest student chef competition, and NamAIste – HospitalityGPT, the world’s first Generative AI-powered hospitality knowledge engine, IIHM continues to lead the transformation of hospitality education by combining global exposure, industry collaboration and technological innovation.

For IIHM students, International Hospitality Day is more than an awards ceremony—it is an opportunity to witness excellence, learn from global leaders and understand the values that define successful hospitality careers. The celebration serves as a reminder that dedication, innovation, leadership and compassion remain the true foundations of the industry.

The IHC London & IIHM International Hospitality Day Awards 2026 concluded on an inspiring note, celebrating the visionaries who continue to elevate hospitality while motivating the next generation to carry the industry forward with passion, purpose and excellence.
