More Than 60 Nations Unite as IIHM Launches GAIHEC, the World’s First Global AI Hospitality Education Council

Jul 21, 2026

On World AI Day, the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) achieved another global milestone with the launch of the Global AI Hospitality Education Council (GAIHEC)—the world’s first international council dedicated exclusively to responsible Artificial Intelligence in hospitality, culinary arts and tourism education. Bringing together educators, industry leaders and institutions from more than 60 countries, GAIHEC marks the beginning of a new era where technology and human values evolve together to redefine hospitality education.

Built on IIHM’s pioneering AI journey, including the creation of NamAIste – HospitalityGPT, GAIHEC is designed to create a global framework for AI-powered hospitality learning. The Council will develop ethical AI standards, future-ready curricula, faculty development programmes, collaborative research and international partnerships, ensuring that students are prepared for an industry where AI enhances, rather than replaces, the human experience.

Guided by IIHM’s philosophy of “High-Tech. Higher Touch.”, GAIHEC reinforces the belief that while AI can transform guest engagement, operations, revenue management and sustainability, hospitality will always remain centred on empathy, creativity and meaningful human connections.

The Council also unveiled the world’s first Hospitality Division AI Map, integrating AI across every major hospitality discipline—from culinary arts and food & beverage service to front office operations and hospitality sales.

With the launch of the GAIHEC Roadway to 2027, IIHM is leading a truly global movement that will culminate in the signing of the GAIHEC Global Charter during the Young Chef Olympiad 2027, establishing the world’s first internationally accepted framework for responsible AI integration in hospitality education.

As AI transforms the future of work, IIHM continues to lead hospitality education by preparing students to become globally competent, ethically responsible and future-ready professionals. At GAIHEC, technology is not seen as a replacement for people, but as a powerful tool that enables hospitality professionals to create richer experiences, stronger relationships and a more sustainable future—because in hospitality, technology powers the future, but humanity will always define it.
