International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), Bangalore students got an opportunity to explore professional culinary skills through ‘The Art of the Blade’, an interactive masterclass organised in collaboration with Tramontina and RG Hospitality. Led by Chef Vijay Bhaskaran, Brand Ambassador for Tramontina, the session introduced students to essential knife-handling techniques, kitchen safety, equipment care and the importance of precision and consistency in food preparation. The masterclass also offered a glimpse into Brazilian cuisine through live culinary demonstrations, helping students understand how ingredients, techniques and professional kitchen tools come together.
The industry-led session reflected IIHM’s approach to complementing classroom learning with hands-on exposure and opportunities to learn directly from hospitality professionals. By bringing together culinary expertise, professional equipment and international cuisine, the programme helped students strengthen their fundamentals while gaining a broader understanding of the skills and practices required in a modern hospitality career.
